The Stage In-between:
Innovation Hub In Pejaraken, Bali

The project acts as a bridge between the sky and the earth, as well as between humanity and nature. It consists of three primary components: 1) a pair of prism-like volumes that house classrooms, a maker space, an observatory with views of the stunning surrounding landscape, and 2) a coworking space. These volumes are brought together by a canopy made of woven bamboo, creating a third space that serves as a communal meeting area.

The canopy, which itself is a woven piece made primarily of bamboo, is intended to explore and showcase the material's remarkable physical properties and local craftsmanship through a simple, concise architectural expression.

The bamboo canopy creates an ideal space for communal activity by embodying the concept of a third space that is both circumscribed and open, both inside and outside. This unique setting integrates communal activities within the surrounding environment. The canopy's woven bamboo structure further provides shelter and shade, making it a comfortable gathering place, while its porous design allows natural light and breezes to filter through, preserving an outdoor ambiance.
